The IE-1000-6T2T-LM is the eight-port model of the Cisco Industrial Ethernet 1000 Series, a compact rugged lightly managed switch that pairs 6 Fast Ethernet copper downlinks with 2 Fast Ethernet copper uplinks for operational technology installations run entirely through a web GUI. As part of Cisco's entry industrial line for machine builders and machine-to-machine networks, it brings VLANs, IGMP snooping, EtherChannel, Sticky-MAC port security, and EtherNet/IP (CIP) awareness to teams that do not operate a command line, while the second uplink gives a small automation cell a redundant path or a daisy-chain position that the five-port model cannot offer.
