The C9500-DNA-A-3Y is a Cisco DNA Advantage 3-year term subscription license for standard-density Catalyst 9500 switches in campus core and aggregation roles. The license covers the 24Q, 40X, 32C, 32QC and 48Y4C platform groups, pairs with Network Advantage hardware and is managed through a Cisco Smart Account. The license does not apply to the low-density C9500-12Q, C9500-16X and C9500-24Y4C hosts, which use the C9500-DNA-L-A line.

C9500-DNA-A-3Y is the three-year Cisco DNA Advantage subscription, and C9500-DNA-E-3Y is the same term, platform group and Smart Licensing on the Essentials tier, so the tier is the first thing to settle. The subscription tier must match the network license on the switch: a Network Advantage (-A) switch takes C9500-DNA-A-3Y and a Network Essentials (-E) switch takes C9500-DNA-E-3Y. When the term should run longer than three years, order C9500-DNA-A-5Y for five years or C9500-DNA-A-7Y for seven, which keep the tier and platform group unchanged. Low-density hosts, such as C9500-12Q, C9500-16X and C9500-24Y4C, fall outside this group and take C9500-DNA-L-A-3Y instead.
