C1112-8P Description
The C1112-8P is a Cisco 1000 Series Integrated Services Router for small branch offices whose WAN service arrives over a G.FAST or VDSL2 copper line. The router pairs a Gigabit RJ-45/SFP combo WAN port with a G.FAST DSL port (Annex B), adds eight Gigabit LAN ports, and runs up to 600 Mbps of IPsec at 512 bytes on 4 GB of DRAM. The SEC license alone caps encrypted traffic at 50 Mbps, and the full IPsec rate needs the HSEC license.

Product Performance
Key Features
The second WAN port is a DSL interface rather than Ethernet, so the router terminates a copper telephone-pair circuit without an external modem. It runs G.FAST with spectrum up to 106 MHz, VDSL2 up to profile 35b, and stays compatible with ADSL2/2+ lines.
The Gigabit combo port accepts an RJ-45 cable or an SFP. Supported optics include GLC-SX-MMD for multimode runs and GLC-LH-SMD, GLC-EX-SMD and GLC-ZX-SMD for single-mode fiber, so a fiber handoff can sit beside the DSL line.
Powering phones or cameras from the LAN switch needs the optional ISR-1100-POE4 adapter and its 150W supply. With it installed, four ports deliver 802.3af PoE, or two ports deliver 802.3at PoE+.
Hardware IPsec reaches 600 Mbps at 512 bytes in autonomous mode, but licensing decides how much of it is usable. SEC allows 50 Mbps, FL-VPERF-8P-200 lifts the ceiling to 250 Mbps, and the HSEC license removes the limit.
One Universal IOS XE image runs the router under Catalyst SD-WAN Manager or as a CLI, WebUI and Cisco DNA Center managed device. In SD-WAN mode it carries 200 overlay tunnels, and IPsec drops from 650 Mbps to 250 Mbps once QoS, deep packet inspection and Flexible NetFlow are applied.
With 4 GB of DRAM, autonomous mode holds 280K IPv4 and 260K IPv6 routes, 100K NAT sessions and 1K VRFs.
Application Scenarios
Where the carrier reaches a small office only over telephone copper, the router brings the G.FAST or VDSL2 service straight into its DSL port and routes it to the eight wired desks and devices on the LAN.
A retail branch in an SD-WAN fabric uses the DSL circuit as one transport and a fiber or Ethernet service on the combo port as the other, with both tunnels managed from Catalyst SD-WAN Manager.
In a reception area or small clinic, up to four IP phones, or two PoE+ wireless access points, draw power directly from the router’s LAN ports once the PoE adapter is fitted.

C1112-8P and C1111-8P share eight LAN ports, 600 Mbps of IPsec and 1800 Mbps of forwarding, but C1112-8P has a G.FAST DSL port (Annex B) where C1111-8P has a second copper Gigabit WAN port. Sites whose two circuits both arrive as Ethernet or fiber need C1111-8P, since C1112-8P has only one Ethernet WAN port. A G.FAST line provisioned as Annex A calls for C1113-8P, which keeps the same throughput and 4 GB of memory. Branches that need SD-WAN IPsec up to 700 Mbps, 8 GB of DRAM and flash, or a CAT4 LTE USB dongle for backup move to C1121X-8P, which has no DSL port and forwards up to 1600 Mbps.

Ordering Checklist
- Technology license: IP Base (SL-1100-8P-IPB) is the default; add SL-1100-8P-SEC for zone-based firewall, IPsec VPN and DMVPN, or SL-1100-8P-APP for MPLS and NBAR2. SL-1K licenses fit 112x models, not this router.
- IPsec performance license: Add FL-1100-8P-HSEC to remove the encryption limit, or FL-VPERF-8P-200 for a 250 Mbps ceiling. With SEC alone, tunnels stop at 50 Mbps.
- Software type: The IOS software version and type is a required selection, and the router needs Cisco IOS XE 16.8.1 or later.
- DSL firmware: The xDSL firmware option is a required selection for this DSL model; B2pvfbH043j is the G.FAST Annex B image.
- PoE supply: Add ISR-1100-POE4 when LAN ports must power phones or access points; it replaces the standard 66W adapter with a 150W supply. Without it no LAN port supplies power.
- Rack kit and power cord: Order ACS-1100-RM-19 for rack mounting, because ACS-1100-RM2-19 fits 112x models. The power cord is a required line on every order.
