NIM-LTEA-LA Description
The NIM-LTEA-LA is a Cisco LTE Advanced 3.0 wireless WAN network interface module for branch routers that need cellular WAN or backup links in Asia Pacific, Australia and Latin America. The module supports LTE Category 6 at a theoretical 300 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up on nine FDD and four TDD bands, with dual Micro-SIM sockets and failover on Cisco 4200, 4300 and 4400 Series ISRs and ENCS 5400 Series. Universal Cisco IOS XE 16.3.2 or later is the minimum software, and Mobile IP needs a separate APP or AX license.

Application Scenarios
A branch in Australia, Southeast Asia or Latin America without a wired circuit can use the module as the cellular WAN link of a Cisco 4300 or 4400 Series ISR, with Category 6 LTE and carrier aggregation on the regional bands.
A site with a wired primary WAN can keep a cellular backup path on the module, where the two Micro-SIM sockets fail over between the installed SIMs.

NIM-LTEA-LA and NIM-LTEA-EA are both Category 6 modules with 300 Mbps download, 50 Mbps upload and dual Micro-SIM sockets, but NIM-LTEA-LA uses the Sierra Wireless EM7430 modem for Australia, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Japan, China, India and South Korea, while NIM-LTEA-EA uses the EM7455 for the United States, Europe, Canada and the Middle East. Sites in those western regions need NIM-LTEA-EA, whose FDD bands add 2, 4, 12, 13, 20, 25, 26, 29 and 30. Networks that need only 150 Mbps download and one Mini-SIM can use NIM-4G-LTE-LA, a Category 4 module for Asia Pacific, Australia and Latin America.
