C9124AXE-ROW Description
The C9124AXE-ROW is a Cisco Catalyst 9124AX Series outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point with external antennas for wall, pole and tower installations. The AP runs in dual-radio mode, with 4x4:4 radios on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, or in tri-radio mode, with two 2x2:2 5 GHz radios and a 2.4 GHz radio, and it has six antenna ports with up to 13 dBi of certified gain, and IP66/IP67 protection from -40 to 65 C. The AP does not include antennas and requires IOS XE 17.6.2 or later on a Catalyst 9800 controller.

At a port, the access point mounts on a pole or tower and connects to high-gain antennas of up to 13 dBi that are aimed along the quay and stacking areas.
A university campus can wall-mount the AP beside a plaza and attach between one and six antennas to shape the coverage around buildings and paths.
At a facility with BLE or 802.15.4 sensors outdoors, the integrated IoT radio lets the same access point cover the sensors and Wi-Fi clients.

C9124AXE-ROW has six antenna ports and is ordered without antennas, while C9124AXI-ROW carries four internal 7 dBi omnidirectional antennas and C9124AXD-ROW is the internal directional model with 9 dBi peak gain on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Designs that choose their own antennas, up to 13 dBi certified gain, stay on C9124AXE-ROW, which also runs in dual-radio mode (4×4:4 on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) or tri-radio mode (two 2×2:2 5 GHz radios plus a 2.4 GHz radio). Sites with no external antenna plan move to C9124AXI-ROW for omnidirectional coverage or C9124AXD-ROW for a directional pattern. C9124AXE-EWC-ROW is the external-antenna model with the Embedded Wireless Controller, and Cisco lists EWC models at IOS XE 17.6.2 or later, the same floor as C9124AXE-ROW.

- Antennas: Add 1 to 6 antennas for the six ports, three of them self-identifying (SIA) ports: dual-band AIR-ANT2547V-N, AIR-ANT2547VG-N, AIR-ANT2547VG-NS, AIR-ANT2568VG-N, AIR-ANT2568VG-NS, AIR-ANT2588P4M-NS=, AIR-ANT2513P4M-N= or AIR-ANT2513P4M-NS= (13 dBi); single-band AIR-ANT2450V-N=, AIR-ANT2480V-N=, AIR-ANT2413P2M-N=, AIR-ANT5180V-N= or AIR-ANT5114P2M-N=. The AP ships without antennas.
- Power source: Use 802.3bt, Cisco UPOE or 24 to 56 V DC input for 4×4 radios and 2.5G, with AIR-PWRINJ-60RGD1= or AIR-PWRINJ-60RGD2= as injectors. 802.3at gives only 2×2 radios at 1G, and 802.3af disables the radios entirely.
- Regulatory domain: Check the installation country against the ROW domain in the Wireless LAN Compliance Lookup for this AP model and software release. ROW is not a worldwide domain, and the AP needs a valid ROW country code in its join profile.
- Controller software: Run a Catalyst 9800 controller on IOS XE 17.6.2 or later. C9124AXE-ROW cannot join a controller on an earlier release.
