C9124AXI-ROW Description
The C9124AXI-ROW is a Cisco Catalyst 9124AX Series outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point with internal omnidirectional antennas for campuses, yards and ports. The access point has 4x4:4 radios on 2.4 and 5 GHz, a 5.38 Gbps peak PHY rate, one 2.5G multigigabit uplink and one Gigabit SFP uplink, with an IP66/IP67 enclosure rated from -40 to 65 °C. Full 4x4 operation needs 802.3bt, Cisco UPOE or 24-56 V DC power, while 802.3at limits the radios to 2x2 and 802.3af disables them.

C9124AXI-ROW and C9124AXE-ROW share the Catalyst 9124AX outdoor platform, but C9124AXI-ROW carries four built-in 7 dBi omnidirectional dual-band antennas, while C9124AXE-ROW has six antenna ports for external antennas that are bought separately and certified up to 13 dBi. A design that needs a built-in directional pattern rather than omnidirectional coverage moves to C9124AXD-ROW, which peaks at 9 dBi on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. A project that wants the Embedded Wireless Controller on the access point itself needs C9124AXI-EWC-ROW, which requires IOS XE 17.6.2 or later, so C9124AXI-ROW is the choice for sites managed by a Catalyst 9800 controller. C9124AXE-ROW has the same 17.6.2 minimum, which matters when the existing controller is older.
Ordering Checklist
- Regulatory domain: Confirm the installation country is covered by the ROW domain in Cisco’s Wireless LAN Compliance Lookup before ordering. The data sheet defines no ROW country list, so the country has to be checked first.
- Power source: Use 802.3bt, Cisco UPOE or a 24 to 56 V DC input for 4×4 radios, with AIR-PWRINJ-60RGD1= or AIR-PWRINJ-60RGD2= as the injector. AIR-PWRINJ6= is 802.3at only, which limits the access point to 2×2 radios, and 802.3af disables the radios.
- Software subscription: Order a Cisco DNA Software for Wireless subscription from the Wireless Ordering Guide with Cisco DNA Subscription Licenses. The data sheet lists no license PID, so the subscription is a separate order line.
- Controller release: Run a Catalyst 9800 controller on IOS XE 17.6.2 or later. Earlier releases support this access point only in the B domain, not in ROW.
