C1000-24P-4G-L Description
The C1000-24P-4G-L is a Cisco Catalyst 1000 Series fixed managed Layer 2 PoE+ access switch for small branches and offices that power phones, cameras and wireless access points. The switch has 24 10/100/1000 RJ45 PoE+ ports sharing a 195W budget, four 1G SFP uplinks, 56 Gbps of switching bandwidth and a fanless chassis. The PoE budget is fixed by the model and cannot be increased later, and routing is limited to static routes.

Key Features
The budget is shared by all PoE+ ports, which works out to about 8W per port if every port draws at once. A single port can still deliver up to 30W.
Four SFP slots carry the aggregate traffic of the 24 copper ports at 56 Gbps of switching bandwidth. The slots accept SFP modules only.
The 24-port PoE+ chassis has no fan, so it can sit in an office or classroom without noise. Full-PoE+ 24-port models in the family use fans.
Power to connected endpoints stays on while the switch reloads, so phones and cameras do not restart with it.
The switch routes between VLANs with static routes, with room for 542 direct and 256 indirect IPv4 unicast routes. Dynamic routing protocols are not supported.
Up to eight Catalyst 1000 Gigabit switches can be joined through their SFP uplinks and managed from one IP address. Only 1G models can be grouped with other 1G models.
Application Scenarios
In a store, the switch powers IP phones and a wireless access point from its PoE+ ports and connects point-of-sale terminals, with one SFP uplink running to the store router.
At a school entrance or small warehouse, the switch powers IP cameras over PoE+ and sends their streams to the recorder over a 1G SFP uplink.
In a library or classroom wing, the fanless switch supplies phones and ceiling access points with PoE+ without adding fan noise to the space.

C1000-24P-4G-L and C1000-24P-4X-L share 24 PoE+ ports and a 195W PoE budget, but C1000-24P-4G-L has 4 x 1G SFP uplinks at 56 Gbps switching bandwidth while C1000-24P-4X-L has 4 x 10G SFP+ uplinks at 128 Gbps, so aggregation links running at 10G need C1000-24P-4X-L. Closets with no powered endpoints can use C1000-24T-4G-L, the data-only model with the same 1G uplinks. Powered loads above 195W need C1000-24FP-4G-L, which offers a 370W budget but is fan-cooled rather than fanless. Cisco fixes the budget per model and it cannot be increased later, so the PoE decision is final when the switch is ordered.

- Power cord: Select one AC power cord for the destination country; the cord is not included and must be selected on the order.
- Uplink optics: Add Cisco-supported SFP modules, sold separately, for the 4 x 1G SFP slots, which accept only SFP. With GLC-BX-U or GLC-BX-D the limit is 45C up to 5,000 ft and 40C up to 10,000 ft.
- Console cable and cord clip: Add CAB-CONSOLE-RJ45 or CAB-CONSOLE-USB for console access and PWR-CLP to retain the power cord; both are separate accessories that are easy to leave off the order.
