C9200-NM-2Q Description
The C9200-NM-2Q is a Cisco Catalyst 9200 2 x 40GE network module for adding 40G uplinks to multigigabit access switches. The module has two 40 Gigabit Ethernet QSFP+ slots and installs in the uplink bay of the C9200-24PXG and C9200-48PXG. The module is not supported on other Catalyst 9200 models, and it was introduced in Cisco IOS XE Amsterdam 17.1.1.

Application Scenarios
In a wiring closet where a C9200-24PXG or C9200-48PXG serves multigigabit access points and desktops, the module carries the floor’s traffic to the distribution layer over two 40G QSFP+ links.
With one QSFP+ link to each of two aggregation switches, the access switch keeps a 40G path available when one link or one upstream switch fails.

C9200-NM-2Q gives two 40G QSFP+ uplink slots and fits only C9200-24PXG and C9200-48PXG, the same two hosts as C9200-NM-2Y, which has two 25G SFP28 slots, so 25G uplink plans take C9200-NM-2Y. A plan with four 10G SFP+ uplinks takes C9200-NM-4X, which also fits the 1G Catalyst 9200 models. C9200-NM-4G offers four 1G SFP slots and is not supported on C9200-24PXG or C9200-48PXG, so it cannot replace the 40G module on these switches.

- Catalyst 9200 multigigabit hosts: Install the module only in C9200-24PXG or C9200-48PXG. It is supported only on these two Catalyst 9200 multigigabit models; Catalyst 9200L and Catalyst 9200CX have no network-module slot.
