SSD-240G Description
The SSD-240G is a Cisco pluggable USB 3.0 SSD storage module for the rear USB 3.0 SSD port of Catalyst 9300 Series switches. The module adds 240 GB of removable, field-replaceable storage for packet captures, trace logs and container-hosted applications. The module is also the hardware required for hosted ASAc on Catalyst 9300, and Catalyst 9400 supervisors do not use it because they take an M2 SATA module instead.

SSD-240G and SSD-120G are both Cisco pluggable USB 3.0 SSD modules for the Catalyst 9300 SSD slot, and capacity separates them: 240G against 120G. SSD-240G is the module to order when packet capture, trace logs or container storage need the larger drive, and it is the one Cisco lists as required hardware for hosted ASAc on Catalyst 9300, so SSD-120G does not substitute there. Catalyst 9400 supervisors do not take either module and need C9400-SSD-240GB, a 240GB M2 SATA memory part for that platform.
Ordering Checklist
- Catalyst 9300 and 9300X hosts: Confirm the switch is a Catalyst 9300 or Catalyst 9300X, such as C9300-24P-E or C9300X-48TX-A, with a USB 3.0 SSD slot for 120 GB or 240 GB modules. The module plugs into that slot and fits no other Catalyst platform slot.
- Catalyst 9300L hosts: Confirm the switch is a Catalyst 9300L, which also has a USB 3.0 SSD port. Catalyst 9300L models use the same pluggable SSD slot.
