C9350-NM-8Y Description
The C9350-NM-8Y is a Cisco Catalyst 9350 Series Smart Switches network module for adding SFP-based fiber uplinks from 1G to 50G to access switches. The module has eight SFP56 ports that run at 1G, 10G or 25G, or four ports at 50G, for up to 200 Gbps of uplink bandwidth, and it is hot-swappable. Converting the upper row to 50G mode disables the lower row, and the module installs in C9350-24P, C9350-48P, C9350-24T, C9350-48T, C9350-24U, C9350-48U, C9350-48TX and C9350-48HX.

Application Scenarios
A branch or campus closet with existing 10G or 25G SFP optics can connect its C9350-24T or C9350-48T to the aggregation layer through the module without moving to QSFP28 cabling.
A PoE access closet built on C9350-48P can start with 10G or 25G links and later convert the upper row of the module to four 50G uplinks as aggregation capacity grows.

C9350-NM-8Y is the SFP56 module of this group, with eight 1G/10G/25G ports by default or four 50G ports when the upper row is converted, which disables the lower row, while C9350-NM-2C and C9350-NM-4C use QSFP28 cages for 40G or 100G. Both modes top out at 200 Gbps, so a design that needs 400 Gbps of uplink must use C9350-NM-4C, which installs only in C9350-48HX, C9350-48TX and C9350-24Y. For 100G uplinks on C9350-24P, C9350-48P, C9350-24T, C9350-48T, C9350-24U or C9350-48U, C9350-NM-2C is the module to choose, with two ports and up to 200 Gbps.
Ordering Checklist
- Catalyst 9350 hosts: Use the module in C9350-24P, C9350-48P, C9350-24T, C9350-48T, C9350-24U, C9350-48U, C9350-48TX and C9350-48HX. Other host models are not on Cisco’s support list.
- Module PID: Order C9350-NM-8Y on a new switch order and C9350-NM-8Y= as the spare. The = PID is the separate spare for replacing or adding a module on an installed switch.
