C9K-F1-SSD-960G Description
The C9K-F1-SSD-960G is a Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series High Performance pluggable SATA SSD module for adding local storage to switches that run application hosting and packet capture. The module provides 960GB of capacity, mounts as disk0: with EXT4 as the default file system, and installs in the rear slot of the C9500-32C, C9500-32QC, C9500-48Y4C and C9500-24Y4C. The module is not supported on the C9500-16X, and it does not support non-EXT file systems, ROMMON boot or SATA firmware upgrades.

On a Catalyst 9500 High Performance core switch, the module gives the switch 960GB of disk0: space so packet captures and trace logs stay on the switch instead of an external server.
A data center or campus aggregation switch running KVM, Linux container or Docker workloads can keep application images and data on the module, which mounts as disk0: with EXT4 by default.

C9K-F1-SSD-960G is the largest of the three C9K-F1 SATA SSD modules, with 960GB against 480GB on C9K-F1-SSD-480G and 240GB on C9K-F1-SSD-240G; the three share the same supported model list and the same disk0: mount, with EXT4 as the default file system. Capacity is the only difference, so projects that keep application-hosting files, packet captures and trace logs on disk0: and need less space can drop to C9K-F1-SSD-480G, and C9K-F1-SSD-240G covers the smallest footprint. None of the three is listed for C9500-16X, and Catalyst 9500X switches use the C9K-F3 SSD line instead.
