QSFP-H40G-CU3M Description
The QSFP-H40G-CU3M is a Cisco 40GBASE-CR4 QSFP+ passive direct-attach copper cable for 40 Gigabit Ethernet links between QSFP ports in the same rack or in adjacent racks. The 3 m cable uses 30 AWG conductors, a 7 mm QSFP-end diameter and a 50 mm bend radius, with a 0 to 70 C operating range. Passive copper lengths in this family stop at 5 m, so longer runs need an active copper or optical cable.

QSFP-H40G-CU3M is the 3 m passive 40GBASE-CR4 copper cable of this group, with the thin 30 AWG and 7 mm QSFP-end diameter it shares with QSFP-H40G-CU1M, while QSFP-H40G-CU5M and QSFP-H40G-ACU7M use 26 AWG and a 9 mm diameter. A run of 1 m or less fits QSFP-H40G-CU1M, and a run between 3 m and 5 m needs QSFP-H40G-CU5M. Passive copper ends at 5 m, so a 7 m run needs the active QSFP-H40G-ACU7M, which draws 1.5 W at each end, and a 10 m run moves to QSFP-H40G-ACU10M. One QSFP port feeding four SFP+ ports needs a QSFP-4SFP10G-CU3M breakout cable.
