SFP-10G-SR Description
The SFP-10G-SR is a Cisco 10GBASE-SR SFP+ transceiver for short 10G links over multimode fiber inside buildings and data center rows. The module reaches 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4 or OM5 at 850 nm through dual LC connectors, operates from 0 to 70°C and draws up to 1W. The module carries 10GBASE-SR only and needs multimode cabling, so single-mode fiber or spans beyond 400 m cannot use it.

SFP-10G-SR is the standard 10GBASE-SR optic for multimode fiber, reaching 300 m on OM3 and 400 m on OM4 or OM5 at 850 nm, while SFP-10G-LR runs at 1310 nm over single-mode fiber to 10 km, so any link beyond 400 m or on single-mode cabling needs SFP-10G-LR. SFP-10G-SR-S has the same reach but is the S-Class listing with Cisco’s no-FCoE note, so FCoE links use SFP-10G-SR. Sites that need a -5 to 85 degrees C rating or the multirate SR, SW and OTU2e description move to SFP-10G-SR-X.
