SFP-10G-AOC1M Description
The SFP-10G-AOC1M is a Cisco 10GBASE-AOC SFP+ active optical cable for short 10 Gigabit Ethernet links between SFP+ ports in the same rack. The cable is 1 meter long with a beige bail latch, draws up to 1W and operates from 0 to 70°C. The cable is an active optical design rather than passive twinax copper, and it runs only on hosts that appear in Cisco's compatibility documentation, such as Catalyst 1300 and 1300X Series switches.

A run that is longer than 1 meter after cable management needs SFP-10G-AOC2M. SFP-H10GB-CU1M has the same 1-meter length but is passive twinax copper that draws 0.1W against 1W, so a design that calls for passive copper belongs on SFP-H10GB-CU1M, and one that calls for active optical media stays on SFP-10G-AOC1M.
