SFP-10G-AOC3M Description
The SFP-10G-AOC3M is a Cisco 10GBASE-AOC SFP+ active optical cable assembly for 10 Gigabit Ethernet links between SFP+ host ports. The cable is 3 meters long with a orange bail latch, draws 1W at most and operates from 0 to 70 degrees C. The assembly only fits SFP+ ports, so Catalyst 1300 models without SFP+ cages cannot use it.

SFP-10G-AOC3M is the 3-meter, orange-latch active optical cable in this group, while SFP-10G-AOC2M is the 2-meter, brown-latch version and SFP-10G-AOC5M is the 5-meter, gray-latch version; all three are 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ cables drawing 1W. Runs that fit within 2 meters can use SFP-10G-AOC2M, and runs longer than 3 meters move to SFP-10G-AOC5M. A 3-meter link built on copper instead of optics can use SFP-H10GB-CU3M, a passive twinax cable with the same orange latch and 0.1W maximum draw against 1W for SFP-10G-AOC3M.
