SFP-10G-LR Description
The SFP-10G-LR is a Cisco 10GBASE-LR SFP+ transceiver for 10 km 10G Ethernet links over single-mode fiber. The module runs at 1310 nm on G.652 fiber with dual LC connectors, draws up to 1W and operates from 0 to 70°C. Links with fiber loss below 6.2 dB can be engineered to reach 15 km.

SFP-10G-LR and SFP-10G-ER differ in wavelength and reach: SFP-10G-LR is 1310 nm with a 10 km class at 1W, while SFP-10G-ER is 1550 nm for up to 40 km at 1.5W, so links longer than 10 km move to SFP-10G-ER. Where fiber loss stays under 6.2 dB, Cisco allows the LR path to be engineered to 15 km before an ER module is needed. SFP-10G-LR10-I keeps the 10 km 1310 nm LR optics but is the industrial-temperature multirate listing that also covers CPRI, so cabinets outside 0 to 70 degrees C or CPRI transport use SFP-10G-LR10-I. SFP-10G-LR-X is the extended-temperature multirate LR/LW/OTU2e module, rated -5 to 85 degrees C.
