The SD-IE-1GB is a Cisco 1 GB ruggedized SD flash memory card for Industrial Ethernet 2000 and 4000 Series switches that need removable configuration storage. The swappable card is the storage behind auto sync to SD card on the IE 2000 and SwapDrive replacement on the IE 4000, so a failed switch can be swapped without manual reconfiguration. IE 2000 switches do not include the card by default, while IE 4000 switches list a 1-GB removable SD card as included hardware.
