IEM-3400-8T Description
The IEM-3400-8T is a Cisco Catalyst IE3400 Rugged Series expansion module that adds data-only copper ports to an IE-3400-8T2S or IE-3400-8P2S industrial switch. The module has eight Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports without PoE, draws 12W and takes the system to 18 ports. Because the module is built for the IE3400, SGT/SGACL stays available on the base switch, which does not hold when an IEM-3300 module is attached.

IEM-3400-8T is the non-PoE copper module of the IEM-3400 group: it adds eight Gigabit copper ports at 12W to IE-3400-8T2S and IE-3400-8P2S bases, while IEM-3400-8P adds PoE/PoE+ on the same ports but fits only IE-3400-8P2S. Cabinets that need fiber on the added ports take IEM-3400-8S with eight SFP ports at 27W. IEM-3300-8T is the lower-power copper alternative at 6W and also fits IE-3300 bases, but its advanced hardware features are listed as No against Yes for IEM-3400-8T, and Cisco notes that an IEM-3300 module on an IE3400 base makes SGT/SGACL unavailable. All four modules give 18 ports in total and none supports 90-W PoE.
