PWR-IE480W-PCAC-L Description
The PWR-IE480W-PCAC-L is a Cisco Industrial DIN-rail AC-to-DC PoE power supply for rugged switch cabinets that need a high-wattage 54VDC feed. The supply delivers 480W at 54VDC (48-56VDC, 8.9A) from a hardwired AC 90-264V input, carries an IP20 rating and operates from -40C to +75C. The supply is not approved for hazardous-location installations, and in vertical mounting its output derates 2.5% per C above 50C and 5% per C above 70C.

In a plant-floor cabinet, the supply feeds a Catalyst IE3300 or IE3400 switch whose PoE ports power cameras and wireless access points, and its 480W output covers the larger PoE budgets of the 10G PoE base units.
An IE 4000 Series switch in an industrial cabinet can take the supply as its 480W PoE/PoE+ power option from a hardwired AC feed, provided the switch and powered-device load stay inside the supply budget.

PWR-IE480W-PCAC-L is the 480W hardwired AC supply for PoE builds on Catalyst IE3200, IE3300 and IE3400 switches, and its 54 VDC output at 8.9 A compares with 4.5 A on PWR-IE240W-PCAC-L. Where the switch and its PoE ports draw 240W or less, PWR-IE240W-PCAC-L covers the load on the same hardwired AC input. Cabinets that need a plug-in IEC connection instead of terminal wiring move to PWR-IE400W-AC-IEC, which gives up 80W of output at 400W. Sites with DC feeds or Class 1 Div 2 or Zone 2 requirements need PWR-IE170W-PC-AC, the only one of the four that accepts DC 106-300V and carries that approval, at a 170W ceiling.
