SFP-10/25G-LR-I Description
The SFP-10/25G-LR-I is a Cisco 10/25GBASE-LR SFP28 industrial-temperature transceiver for 10G and 25G single-mode links in outdoor cabinets and unconditioned equipment rooms. The 1310 nm optic covers 10 km at either rate over G.652 fiber, or 15 km as an engineered link below 9.3 dB of insertion loss with RS-FEC, and is rated -40 to 85°C. Full 25G reach depends on RS-FEC at the host port; with BASE-R FEC the link may reach 3.5 km, and 1.5 km with no FEC, depending on fiber quality.

Application Scenarios
At an outdoor cell site, an NCS 540 fronthaul router carries 10G or 25G links over single-mode fiber on this optic. The module also supports CPRI rate options 7 to 10 and keeps its -40 to 85°C rating inside the cabinet.
Service providers place NCS 560 and NCS 5500 aggregation routers in remote huts that are not climate controlled, and the optic links each hut to its neighbor over up to 10 km of G.652 fiber.

SFP-10/25G-LR-I and SFP-10/25G-LR-S share 10/25GBASE-LR optics at 1310 nm and 10 km of G.652 reach, but the industrial model is rated -40 to 85°C against 0 to 70°C. The host lists also differ: the TMG matrix shows SFP-10/25G-LR-I on no Catalyst 9200, 9300, 9400, 9500 or 9600 family, so Catalyst 9000 ports in conditioned rooms take SFP-10/25G-LR-S. Where only one strand of single-mode fiber is free, SFP-10/25G-BXD-I keeps the industrial rating and 10 km reach but must pair with SFP-10/25G-BXU-I at the far end. Spans beyond 15 km, up to 40 km, move to SFP-25G-ER-I, which runs 25GBASE-ER only.

- Host support: The target router or switch lists SFP-10/25G-LR-I in the Cisco TMG matrix, which covers families such as NCS 540, NCS 560, NCS 5500, Cisco 8000 Series and Catalyst 1300X. TMG lists hosts per transceiver PID, so support for another 25G optic does not cover this one.
- Fiber and patch cords: The link runs on duplex G.652 single-mode fiber with LC patch cords that have PC or UPC end faces. APC patch cords are not supported on the dual LC/PC connector.
