SFP-25G-AOC2M Description
The SFP-25G-AOC2M is a Cisco 25GBASE-AOC SFP28 active optical cable for 25 Gigabit Ethernet links between SFP28 host ports a short distance apart. The 2 m assembly has SFP28 connectors at both ends, a brown pull tab, a 0 to 70°C commercial operating range and a maximum power draw of 1W. The host ports at both ends must run BASE-R FEC or RS-FEC.

SFP-25G-AOC2M is the brown-tab 2-meter 25G SFP28 active optical cable, and SFP-25G-AOC1M is the same cable type at 1 meter with a beige tab, so the finished cable length is what separates them. Tighter routes that fit within 1 meter can use SFP-25G-AOC1M, while longer paths up to 2 meters need SFP-25G-AOC2M. SFP-H25G-CU2M is the passive copper alternative at the same 2 meters and the same brown tab: it draws 0.1W against 1W for the AOCs and needs no FEC at that length, while both AOCs need BASE-R FEC or RS-FEC on the host port. Ports without FEC support therefore point to SFP-H25G-CU2M rather than an AOC.
