SFP-25G-AOC3M Description
The SFP-25G-AOC3M is a Cisco 25GBASE-AOC SFP28 active optical cable for 25G Ethernet links between SFP28 ports in the same or neighboring racks. The cable is a fixed 3 m assembly with an orange pull tab, 1W maximum power consumption and commercial 0 to 70°C operation. The host ports need BASE-R FEC or RS-FEC enabled for the cable to run at 25G.

SFP-25G-AOC3M is the 3 m active optical cable of this group, 1 m longer than SFP-25G-AOC2M, which has the same SFP28 ends, 25 Gigabit Ethernet rate, 1W maximum power and BASE-R FEC or RS-FEC host requirement. Runs of 2 m or less are covered by SFP-25G-AOC2M, and longer runs move to SFP-25G-AOC4M or SFP-25G-AOC5M. SFP-H25G-CU3M has the same 3 m length but is a passive copper cable drawing 0.1W instead of 1W, so it fits racks where copper is acceptable and the host port runs BASE-R FEC. Where the link must stay optical, SFP-25G-AOC3M is the 3 m option.
