SFP-25G-AOC4M Description
The SFP-25G-AOC4M is a Cisco 25GBASE-AOC SFP28 active optical cable for 25G Ethernet links of up to 4 m between SFP28 ports on switches, server adapters and fabric interconnects. The cable has a green pull tab, draws 1W at most and operates in the commercial 0 to 70°C range. Both host ports must run BASE-R FEC or RS-FEC, because the cable is not specified for ports with FEC off.

SFP-25G-AOC4M is the 4 m active optical cable of this group, 1 m shorter than SFP-25G-AOC5M, which keeps the same SFP28 ends, 25 Gigabit Ethernet rate, 1W maximum power and BASE-R FEC or RS-FEC host requirement on a 5 m run. Paths longer than 4 m move to SFP-25G-AOC5M, and shorter paths can use SFP-25G-AOC3M. SFP-H25G-CU4M has the same 4 m length but is a passive copper cable drawing 0.1W instead of 1W, and its host port must run RS-FEC. Where the link must stay optical, SFP-25G-AOC4M is the 4 m option.
