SFP-25G-AOC1M Description
The SFP-25G-AOC1M is a Cisco 25GBASE-AOC SFP28 active optical cable for short 25 Gigabit Ethernet links between SFP28 host ports. The 1 m assembly has SFP28 connectors at both ends, a beige pull tab, a 0 to 70°C commercial operating range and a maximum power draw of 1W. The host ports at both ends must run BASE-R FEC or RS-FEC.

SFP-25G-AOC1M is the beige-tab 1-meter 25G SFP28 active optical cable, and SFP-25G-AOC2M is the same cable type at 2 meters with a brown tab, so the finished cable length is what separates them. Routes that need slack beyond 1 meter move to SFP-25G-AOC2M. SFP-H25G-CU1M is the passive copper alternative at the same 1 meter and the same beige tab: it draws 0.1W against 1W for the AOCs and needs no FEC at that length, while both AOCs need BASE-R FEC or RS-FEC on the host port. Short in-rack links with no FEC available on the port therefore point to SFP-H25G-CU1M rather than an AOC.
