The C9500-48Y4C-A-BUN is a Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series High Performance switch bundle for campus aggregation pairs that run 25G fiber downlinks. The bundle has two switches with 48 1G/10G/25G SFP28 ports and four 40G/100G QSFP28 uplinks each, plus eight QSFP-40/100-SRBD optics, and every switch offers 3.2 Tbps of switching capacity. Both switches carry Network Advantage, which adds StackWise Virtual, BGP, VXLAN and MACsec-256.

Key Features
The bundle holds two complete Catalyst 9500 High Performance switches, which together provide 96 SFP28 downlinks and eight QSFP28 uplinks.
Eight QSFP-40/100-SRBD modules match the eight uplink ports across the pair. They run 40G or 100G over duplex multimode fiber with LC connectors.
Each switch offers 48 SFP28 ports that accept 1G, 10G or 25G optics and cables, so mixed-speed fiber access blocks connect without media converters.
Each switch has four built-in 40G/100G QSFP28 uplinks and no network module bay, so uplink capacity per chassis stays at four ports.
The license tier adds StackWise Virtual, BGP, VXLAN with BGP-EVPN, MPLS and MACsec-256, and the subscription follows the Cisco DNA Advantage path.
Every switch has two power supply slots for 650W AC, 650W AC low-voltage or 930W DC supplies, and a fan tray with up to four hot-swappable fans.
Application Scenarios
A campus distribution block can place the two switches side by side, each terminating 25G fiber links from access closets and sending the combined traffic to the core over its own QSFP28 uplinks.
The two switches in the bundle can join as one logical core node under StackWise Virtual, giving downstream devices a multichassis EtherChannel across both chassis.
In a building where multimode LC fiber is already installed, the eight SR-BiDi optics light the four uplink ports on each switch over duplex multimode cabling.

C9500-48Y4C-A-BUN and C9500-48Y4C-A use the same 48-port SFP28 switch, but the bundle is two switches with eight QSFP-40/100-SRBD optics, giving 96 SFP28 downlinks and 8 QSFP28 uplinks, while C9500-48Y4C-A is one switch with no optics. A site that needs a single chassis, or that sources its optics separately, should order C9500-48Y4C-A. Both carry Network Advantage; when the design needs only Layer 2, routed access with OSPF up to 1,000 routes, and MACsec-128, C9500-48Y4C-E provides Network Essentials on a single switch but gives up StackWise Virtual, BGP, VXLAN, and MACsec-256.
Ordering Checklist
- Subscription tier: Add a term-based Catalyst Software Subscription or Cisco DNA subscription at the Network Advantage tier. Every new order needs a subscription at the same tier as the network license.
- Second power supply: The configurator preselects a second supply; C9500-SPS-NONE removes it, and a redundant supply is ordered as C9K-PWR-650WAC-R/2. Check this line, or the switch ends up with one supply by mistake or an unneeded second one.
- Low-voltage supply: Fill both slots when C9K-PWR-650WACL-R is chosen. One C9K-PWR-650WACL-R in a dual-supply configuration causes faults and service interruption.
- Power cords: Select a power cord for each supply, because the configuration cannot be completed without a cord selection.
- RFID option: Choose either C9500-RFID or C9500-RFID-NONE. The choice is mandatory at order time and cannot be added after the switch ships.
