The C9500-48Y4C-E is a Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series High Performance fixed switch for campus aggregation layers that terminate 25G fiber. The switch has 48 1G/10G/25G SFP28 ports, four fixed 40G/100G QSFP28 uplinks and 3.2 Tbps of switching capacity, and its UADP 3.0 ASIC holds up to 82,000 MAC entries. 48 Ports Of 1G, 10G And 25G

All 48 downlink ports are SFP28 cages that accept 1G, 10G or 25G optics and cables, so one 1 RU chassis can mix existing 10G links with new 25G ones.

Fixed 40G/100G Uplinks

Four QSFP28 ports are built into the chassis and run at 40G or 100G. There is no network module bay, so these four ports are the whole uplink capacity.

3.2 Tbps UADP 3.0 Forwarding

The UADP 3.0 ASIC switches up to 3.2 Tbps at line rate for packets of 187 bytes and larger, with a forwarding rate of up to 1 Bpps.

Network Essentials Feature Set

The license tier covers Layer 2 switching, routed access with RIP, EIGRP Stub and OSPF up to 1,000 routes, and MACsec-128.

Table Scale For Aggregation

The switch holds up to 82,000 MAC addresses and 256,000 IPv4 routes, which is the table scale of the UADP 3.0 platform group.

Redundant Power And Fan Tray

Network Essentials covers Layer 2, routed access with OSPF up to 1,000 routes, and MACsec-128, so a design that needs StackWise Virtual, BGP, VXLAN with BGP-EVPN, MPLS, or MACsec-256 with WAN MACsec must move to C9500-48Y4C-A. A site that terminates 24 or fewer SFP28 links can order C9500-24Y4C-E instead, which keeps the same four uplinks and 650W AC default supply but reaches 2.0 Tbps against 3.2 Tbps.

  • Subscription tier: Add a term-based Catalyst Software Subscription or Cisco DNA subscription at the Network Essentials tier. Every new order needs a subscription at the same tier as the network license.
  • Second power supply: The configurator preselects a second supply; C9500-SPS-NONE removes it, and a redundant supply is ordered as C9K-PWR-650WAC-R/2. Check this line, or the switch ends up with one supply by mistake or an unneeded second one.
