The C9600-LC-48TX is a Cisco Catalyst 9600 Series 48-port RJ45 copper line card for high-density campus access and distribution connections. Each port runs 10G, 5G, 2.5G, 1G, 100 Mbps or 10 Mbps with C9600-SUP-1, and the card provides 960 Gbps full-duplex bandwidth in Catalyst 9606R slots 1, 2, 5 or 6. With C9600X-SUP-2 the ports run at 10G only, and the card has no optical interfaces.

Key Features
All 48 ports are RJ45 copper, so existing structured cabling plugs in without transceivers. With C9600-SUP-1 each port negotiates from 10G down to 10 Mbps.
The same card behaves differently by engine. C9600-SUP-1 gives the full 10G to 10 Mbps range, while C9600X-SUP-2 limits the ports to 10G.
The Catalyst 9606R has four line card slots, and slots 3 and 4 stay reserved for the supervisors. The card seats in any of the four line card positions.
Maximum rated power is 315 W with either supervisor. That draw belongs in the chassis power plan next to the power supplies installed in the four bays.
The card has no optical interfaces. Fiber links need a different line card, and nothing on this one depends on transceiver support.
Cisco IOS XE 17.1.1 is the minimum release with C9600-SUP-1, and 17.7.1 is the minimum with C9600X-SUP-2.
Application Scenarios
In a campus distribution block built on a Catalyst 9606R, the line card terminates copper downlinks from access-layer switches at 10G, 5G, 2.5G or 1G on its 48 RJ45 ports.
A chassis running C9600-SUP-1 can use the card to connect legacy 100 Mbps and 10 Mbps copper devices alongside 1G and multigigabit links on the same 48 ports.

C9600-LC-48TX is the RJ45 copper card of this group, with 48 ports at 10G, 5G, 2.5G, 1G, 100 Mbps and 10 Mbps with C9600-SUP-1 and 960 Gbps per slot, while C9600-LC-48YL and C9600-LC-48S are SFP-family fiber cards. With C9600X-SUP-2 the copper ports run at 10G only, so a chassis that needs multigigabit or 100 Mbps copper steps stays on C9600-SUP-1. Fiber at 25G or 10G moves to C9600-LC-48YL, which reaches 50G and 4.8 Tbps per slot with C9600X-SUP-2; 1G fiber on C9600-SUP-1 uses C9600-LC-48S, which draws 160 W against 315 W here and is not supported on C9600X-SUP-2. C9600-LC-48TX needs Cisco IOS XE 17.1.1 with C9600-SUP-1 or 17.7.1 with C9600X-SUP-2.
