FPR3K-SSD900 Description
The FPR3K-SSD900 is a Cisco Secure Firewall 3100 Series 900 GB NVMe SSD module for Secure Firewall 3105, 3110, 3120, 3130 and 3140 appliances. Each chassis has two SSD slots that take one NVMe 900 GB drive apiece, with one drive installed in slot 1 by default and slot 2 reserved for an optional software RAID1 drive. SSDs cannot be swapped between platforms, so a drive from another firewall series such as the 2100 Series does not work in a 3100.

Application Scenarios
A Secure Firewall 3100 whose internal drive has been pulled from service can take this module in slot 1 with the same 900 GB NVMe capacity as the factory drive.
An internet-edge firewall that needs mirrored storage can add the module in slot 2, where the two drives form a software RAID1 set at boot and a drive can be hot-swapped after it is removed from the RAID with the CLI procedure.

FPR3K-SSD900 is the 900 GB NVMe SSD for Secure Firewall 3100 appliances, while FPR3K-SSD-BLANK is only a blank slot carrier that holds no storage. FPR3K-SSD-BLANK= is the spare ordering form of the same carrier. A purchase that needs storage, such as the second SSD slot that Cisco reserves for software RAID1, must be FPR3K-SSD900 rather than either carrier PID. The carrier PIDs suit only a slot that is meant to stay empty.

- Secure Firewall 3100 hosts: Confirm the host is a Secure Firewall 3105, 3110, 3120, 3130 or 3140 appliance, such as FPR3120-NGFW-K9. SSDs cannot be swapped between platforms, so an SSD from another firewall series, such as the 2100 Series, cannot be used in a 3100.
