IE-3500H-24T-E Description
The IE-3500H-24T-E is a Cisco IE3500 Heavy Duty Series industrial Ethernet switch for sealed field cabinets that need twenty-four non-PoE Gigabit copper links. The switch has twenty-four 10/100/1000 M12 X-coded ports on a 12 to 48 VDC Mini-Change input at 42W, and it mounts on a wall in a 13.90 in wide housing. The switch has no SFP uplinks and no PoE, and the IP66/IP67 rating holds only when every IP67 cable is mated and torqued or the supplied dust caps are fitted.

Twenty-four 10/100/1000 M12 X-coded ports give the highest copper density in the non-PoE group, all on one shielded 8-pole cable type.
The housing is 13.90 in wide and weighs 13.90 lb with the bracket, so cabinet doors and wall space need to allow for the extra width.
The switch draws 42W at 12V and 3.5A from a 12 to 48 VDC Mini-Change input. Powered endpoints need their own supply because the switch has no PoE budget.
Application Scenarios
In an industrial yard, the switch terminates up to twenty-four self-powered cameras, gateways and sensors from one wall-mounted location.
Inside a rail depot, the switch connects diagnostic equipment and control panels along a wall, with the sealed housing tolerating washdown and dust.
At a substation, the switch links protection relays and meters over shielded M12 cabling, and the Gigabit copper ports connect to nearby gear without media converters.

Ordering Checklist
- Power cable: Order a Mini-Change A-size single-ended cable such as Molex 130006-0737, because no power supply ships with the switch. The switch has one 4-pin Mini-Change input and no supplied power source, so a missing cable leaves it unpowered on site.
- SD card and console cable: Add SD-IE-16GB for configuration backup and CAB-CONSOLE-M12= for the M12 console port, if the site needs them. The SD card is not shipped by default, and the console port needs an M12 to DB9F cable.
- Software tier: Network Essentials is the default; IE3500-NW-A= upgrades to Network Advantage, and IE3500-DNA-E or -A terms (3Y, 5Y, 7Y) cover Catalyst Center. The Catalyst Center licenses are optional and Network Advantage is a separate line item, so the order needs the intended tier.
