C8151-CVAP-G2 Description
The C8151-CVAP-G2 is a Cisco 8100 Series Secure Router with an embedded POTS-side DSL modem and 5G radio for small branches on copper DSL or passive optical service. The router has six LAN ports, two Flex ports and three WAN interfaces (1GE RJ-45/SFP combo, RJ-11 DSL, XGSPON/10G BASE-T), with 5.6 Gbps of forwarding, 1 Gbps of Threat Protection and 500K IPv4 routes across 4K VRFs. The Annex A modem covers POTS lines only, and 5G comes from the embedded module with dual nano SIM slots, not a pluggable one.

Product Performance
Key Features
The embedded modem handles VDSL and ADSL over POTS (Annex A), with VDSL2 profiles from 8a to 35b, and terminates on the RJ-11 port.
The XGSPON/10G BASE-T port and the 1GE RJ-45/SFP combo port sit beside the DSL port, so copper, fibre and Ethernet circuits can all land on one chassis.
An embedded 5G 3GPP Release 17 module with dual nano SIM slots provides the cellular path. The 8100 Series pluggable modules are not used on this model.
Threat Protection is rated at 1 Gbps with NAT, zone-based firewall, intrusion prevention, URL filtering and malware protection enabled, alongside 5.6 Gbps of forwarding.
The 500K-route tier carries 4K VRFs, 4K ACLs and 10K ACEs, enough to keep several traffic classes in separate tables.
Typical power is 27W from a 66W external supply. The 5.1 lb chassis has no fan and starts at Cisco IOS XE 26.1.1.
Application Scenarios
A branch on a POTS-delivered DSL line terminates it on the RJ-11 port, and the embedded 5G radio carries traffic if the copper service drops.
At a broadband-fed site, the router separates guest, corporate and device traffic into VRFs within its 4K capacity, with firewall inspection measured at 1 Gbps.
One chassis takes the place of a DSL modem, a router, a small switch and a cellular gateway at a remote office with up to eight local ports.

C8151-CVAP-G2 and C8151-CVAI-G2 differ only in the embedded DSL modem: C8151-CVAP-G2 supports VDSL/ADSL over POTS (Annex A) and C8151-CVAI-G2 supports VDSL/ADSL over ISDN (Annex B/J), so the line type at the site decides between them. Both carry the embedded 5G Release 17 radio, six LAN ports, 5.6 Gbps of forwarding, 500K routes and a Cisco IOS XE 26.1.1 floor. The POTS-side C8130-VAP-G2 has the same modem but stops at 1.9 Gbps of forwarding, two LAN ports, 280K routes and 1K VRFs, reaches SD-WAN only from Cisco IOS XE 26.2.1, lists no Threat Protection figure and has no cellular radio, so a site that needs any of those moves up to C8151-CVAP-G2.
