CP-7821-K9 Description
The CP-7821-K9 is a Cisco IP Phone 7821 desk phone in the 7800 Series for office staff who handle calls on two lines. The phone has two line keys, a 3.5 in. 396 x 162 pixel grayscale display, 10/100BASE-T Ethernet on two RJ-45 ports and IEEE 802.3af Class 1 PoE. The phone registers to Cisco Unified Communications Manager 12.5 and later under a Basic User Connect License and uses SIP signaling only.

Application Scenarios
At a small reception or front-office desk, the two line keys let one person answer a main number and a second extension, with the 3.5 in. display showing the active call.
In an office with one cable run per desk, the second RJ-45 port passes a PC through the phone, so both devices share a single 10/100BASE-T switch port.
A floor wiring closet with IEEE 802.3af switch ports powers the phone at Class 1, with consumption that does not exceed 3.84 W, so no adapter is needed at the desk.

CP-7821-K9 carries two line keys on a 3.5 in. 396 x 162 display, where CP-7811-K9 has a smaller 3.28 in. 384 x 106 display and comes only in charcoal, so CP-7811-K9 fits only positions that do not need the second line. Desks that need four lines, or 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet for a PC behind the phone, move to CP-7841-K9, the only Gigabit model in the 7800 Series. CP-7841-K9 also changes the CUCM entitlement from Basic User Connect License to Enhanced User Connect License. Both draw IEEE 802.3af Class 1 PoE, so the switch ports stay the same, and white is ordered as CP-7821-W-K9=.
Ordering Checklist
- CUCM license: Order the Basic User Connect License for CUCM 12.5 and later. A 7841 or 7861 license plan (Enhanced UCL) would not match this phone.
- Power for non-PoE ports: Add Cisco Power Adapter 3 in the regional PID for the destination (for example CP-PWR-ADPT-3-NA=, CP-PWR-ADPT-3S-EU= or CP-PWR-ADPT-3S-UK=) plus the matching CP-PWR-CORD-xx= power cord. Without 802.3af PoE the phone has no power source, and the adapter is a regional PID.
- Wall mount: Order CP-7800-WMK= for the 7821; CP-7811-WMK= and CP-7861-WMK= are different kits. A kit for another 7800 Series model will not fit.
