CP-8811-K9 Description
The CP-8811-K9 is a Cisco IP Phone 8811 desk phone for Cisco Unified Communications Manager environments that need a voice-only endpoint with five line keys. The phone has a 5-inch 800 x 480 grayscale display, five programmable line and feature keys, a two-port 10/100/1000 switch for a co-located PC and IEEE PoE Class 2 power. The phone does not support key expansion modules and registers to Cisco Unified Communications Manager 12.5 and later with an Enhanced User Connect License.

Application Scenarios

Where one cable run serves the desk, the phone’s two-port 10/100/1000 switch passes the connection through to the user’s PC, so the phone and the PC share a single LAN drop.
In a wiring closet whose switch ports supply IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at power, the phone runs from PoE Class 2, and Cisco Power Cube 4 covers desks with no PoE at all.

CP-8811-K9 is the grayscale 5-inch model of the 8800 desk phones, while CP-8841-K9 keeps the same five line keys and Class 2 PoE but has a color display at the same 800 x 480 resolution. Desks that need USB, Bluetooth or a key expansion module move to CP-8851-K9: Cisco’s administration guide lists CP-8811-K9 as a phone without KEM support, and CP-8851-K9 takes up to two modules. CP-8851-K9 also raises the PoE requirement to Class 3 before hardware version V08 and Class 4 from V08, against Class 2 for CP-8811-K9, so the switch budget must be rechecked when moving up. All three connect to Cisco Unified Communications Manager with the Enhanced User Connect License.
Ordering Checklist
- Color variant: Order CP-8811-K9= for Charcoal or CP-8811-W-K9= for White. The color is set by the PID, and the wrong one cannot be changed after delivery.
- Call-control license: Add an Enhanced User Connect License for each phone registered to Cisco Unified Communications Manager. The phone hardware does not carry the calling entitlement.
- Power: Provide IEEE class 2 PoE from the switch, or add CP-PWR-CUBE-4= (CP-PWR-CUBE-4-S= with switch) plus a country power cord. Without PoE the phone has no power, and the cube ships without a cord.
- Expansion module: Leave CP-8800-A-KEM= off the order, since the administration guide lists the 8811 as unsupported. A module added to this phone cannot be attached.
