CP-8851-K9 Description
The CP-8851-K9 is a Cisco IP Phone 8800 Series desk phone for attendant and shared-line desks that add Key Expansion Modules. The phone has five programmable line and feature keys, a 5-inch 800 x 480 color display, a two-port Gigabit Ethernet switch and a side USB port, and it supports Bluetooth 3.0 EDR Class 1. The phone supports one Key Expansion Module on PoE Class 3 hardware before V08 and two on Class 4 hardware from V08.

CP-8851-K9 and CP-8851NR-K9 are the same 8851 hardware with five line keys, a gigabit switch, a side USB port and up to two Cisco 8800 KEMs, but CP-8851-K9 has a Bluetooth 3.0 EDR Class 1 radio and CP-8851NR-K9 has none, so the NR model suits sites that want HD audio and KEMs without Bluetooth. CP-8851-W-K9 is the white version of CP-8851-K9 with the same specifications. A desk that needs three KEMs or Wi-Fi moves to CP-8865-K9, which takes up to three KEMs and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, but it uses CP-8800-V-KEM= instead of CP-8800-A-KEM=.
Ordering Checklist
- Switch PoE class and KEM count: Hardware before V08 is Class 3 and powers 1 KEM on PoE; V08 and later is Class 4 and powers 2 KEMs. A phone on a Class 3 switch port cannot run a second KEM on PoE.
- Power Cube 4 for two KEMs on Class 3: A phone below hardware V08, or one on a Class 3 switch port, needs CP-PWR-CUBE-4= (CP-PWR-CUBE-4-S= with switch) plus one cord from CP-PWR-CORD-{AP,AR,AU,BZ,CE,CN,JP,NA,SW,UK}= to run two KEMs. V08 and later hardware on a Class 4 port runs two KEMs on PoE.
- KEM PID: Order CP-8800-A-KEM= for each expansion module, not CP-8800-V-KEM=. V-KEM is the 8865 module; the 8851 order table lists CP-8800-A-KEM=.
- Wall mount: Order CP-8800-WMK= for the phone alone, or CP-8800-A-KEM-WMK= for a phone with one KEM. A wall kit exists only for the phone or phone plus a single KEM.
