CP-8861-K9 Description
The CP-8861-K9 is a Cisco IP Phone 8861 desk phone in the 8800 Series for enterprise desks that need Wi-Fi and Bluetooth alongside wired Ethernet. The phone has five programmable line and feature keys, a 5 in. 800 x 480 color display, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 EDR Class 1 headset support up to 66 ft (20 m). It takes up to three key expansion modules, and any module needs 802.3at PoE or a CP-PWR-CUBE-4 power cube because 802.3af cannot power it.

Application Scenarios
At a reception or attendant desk, the phone adds up to three key expansion modules to grow from 5 to 113 line buttons for call coverage across many extensions.
Where one access-switch drop must serve both the phone and a co-located PC, the internal 2-port Gigabit Ethernet switch passes the PC through the phone.
For staff who move between wired and wireless placements, the 802.11ac radio joins the phone to the WLAN and Bluetooth 3.0 EDR pairs a headset within 66 ft (20 m).

CP-8861-K9 and CP-8861-W-K9 are the same Cisco IP Phone 8861 hardware, differing only in charcoal versus white finish, so the choice between them is cosmetic. CP-8851-K9 has the same 5-inch display, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but it accepts up to two key expansion modules against three on CP-8861-K9 and CP-8861-W-K9, and its PoE draw is Class 3 before hardware V08. Desks that need three expansion modules, or Class 4 power on every hardware revision, stay on an 8861 model. On either 8861, a second or third module needs 802.3at PoE or a CP-PWR-CUBE-4= power cube.
Ordering Checklist
- Power source: Use IEEE 802.3at Class 4 PoE, or CP-PWR-CUBE-4= or CP-PWR-CUBE-4-S= with a CP-PWR-CORD-{AP,AR,AU,BZ,CE,CN,JP,NA,SW,UK}= country cord. A power cube is ordered with a separate country cord, and a desk without PoE has no power without it.
- Key expansion module: Order CP-8800-A-KEM= (Charcoal) for each module, up to three per phone. With 802.3af PoE, one module is not supported; use 802.3at or a power cube.
- Wall mount: Order CP-8800-WMK=, or CP-8800-A-KEM-WMK= when a module is mounted with the phone. The mount is its own PID, so a wall desk needs the line on the order.
- Voice license: Add an Enhanced User Connect License for Cisco Unified Communications Manager. The phone requires this license to run under Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
