QSFP-100G-CU5M Description
The QSFP-100G-CU5M is a Cisco 100GBASE-CR4 QSFP passive copper cable for 100G links that span adjacent racks. At 5 meters it is the longest passive copper length in the QSFP-100G family, with 1.5W per end, a 9 mm cable diameter, a 70 mm bend radius and a gray pull tab. The cable is passive copper rated for 0 to 70°C, so runs beyond 5 meters need optical media.

QSFP-100G-CU5M and QSFP-100G-CU3M are both 100GBASE-CR4 passive copper cables at 1.5W per end, but QSFP-100G-CU5M is 5 m long with a 9 mm diameter and 70 mm bend radius, against 3 m, 7 mm and 50 mm for QSFP-100G-CU3M. A run of 3 m or less takes QSFP-100G-CU3M, or QSFP-100G-CU2M at 2 m, with the thinner cable. At the same 5 m, QSFP-100G-AOC5M is an active optical cable with a 3.5 mm diameter and 30 mm bend radius, which routes through dense cable managers more easily but draws 3.5W per end instead of 1.5W. Passive copper ends at 5 m in this family, so a longer run needs an active optical cable.
