QSFP-100G-AOC7M Description
The QSFP-100G-AOC7M is a Cisco 100G QSFP active optical cable for rack-to-rack links of up to 7 meters between QSFP ports. The assembly draws 3.5W per end, measures 3.5 mm in cable diameter with a 30 mm bend radius, and has a blue pull tab. Both ends are fixed QSFP connectors on one cable, and the commercial operating range is 0 to 70°C.

A server hall can run the cable across a hot aisle or between neighboring rows, linking a 100G QSFP port on one switch to a port on another switch up to 7 meters away.
When 100G links share overhead trays with many other runs, the optical cable’s 3.5 mm diameter takes far less tray space than a passive copper cable of similar length would.

QSFP-100G-AOC7M and QSFP-100G-AOC10M are both 100GBASE QSFP active optical cables at 3.5W per end with a 3.5 mm diameter and 30 mm bend radius, so they differ only in length (7 m against 10 m) and pull tab color (blue against red). A path longer than 7 m needs QSFP-100G-AOC10M. Passive copper tops out at 5 m in this family, so a route between 5 m and 7 m cannot use QSFP-100G-CU5M or QSFP-100G-CU3M; those two copper cables draw 1.5W per end but are thicker, at 7 mm and 9 mm with 50 mm and 70 mm bend radius, which suits short runs where cable bulk is not a concern.
