C9407-FAN Description
The C9407-FAN is a Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series fan tray for the 7-slot Catalyst 9407R chassis in campus distribution rooms. The tray has 12 fans in three rows, moves at least 960 CFM at 100 percent fan throttle from right to left across the chassis, and is allocated 600 W of AC input power with 2047 BTU/hr of heat dissipation. The tray fits only the 7-slot chassis, and a single fan cannot be changed on its own, so the whole tray is replaced.

Application Scenarios

C9407-FAN is the 12-fan, three-row tray for the 7-slot Catalyst 9407R chassis, sitting between C9404-FAN with 8 fans and 640 CFM and C9410-FAN with 16 fans and 1190 CFM, against its own 960 CFM minimum airflow at 100 percent fan throttle. The trays are chassis-specific, so a Catalyst 9404R needs C9404-FAN and a Catalyst 9410R needs C9410-FAN, and none of the three can stand in for another. Power planning also follows the chassis: C9407-FAN is allocated 600 W AC input and 2047 BTU/hr of heat dissipation, against 411 W and 1403 BTU/hr for C9404-FAN, or 778 W and 2654 BTU/hr for C9410-FAN. All three are removable from the front or rear of the chassis.
