C9400-LC-48U Description
The C9400-LC-48U is a Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series UPOE line card for access closets that power endpoints over Gigabit copper. The card has 48 10/100/1000M RJ-45 ports with Cisco UPOE up to 60W on every port, 48 Gbps of full-duplex bandwidth and a 65 W maximum rated power. The card is UPOE rather than UPOE+, so it does not supply the 90W of IEEE 802.3bt.

Application Scenarios
In a floor closet with PoE+ phones, access points and thin clients, the line card feeds up to 60W per port from a Catalyst 9404R, 9407R or 9410R chassis over existing 10/100/1000M cabling.
A Catalyst 9400 that already carries data-only and multigigabit cards can use this card as its Gigabit UPOE module, running on any of the five supported supervisors from C9400-SUP-1 to C9400X-SUP-2XL.

C9400-LC-48U is the 60W Cisco UPOE card of this group: all 48 ports are 10/100/1000, against 30W PoE+ on C9400-LC-48P and 90W UPOE+ on C9400-LC-48H. Endpoints that need no more than 30W can use C9400-LC-48P, and 90W endpoints need C9400-LC-48H, which requires Cisco IOS XE 16.12.1 or later. Where the closet also needs multigigabit, C9400-LC-48UX keeps 60W UPOE but makes 24 of its 48 ports multigigabit and raises line-card bandwidth to 240 Gbps from 48 Gbps, at 240 W maximum rated power instead of 65 W. All four cards work with the same five supervisors, from C9400-SUP-1 to C9400X-SUP-2XL.
