The C9400-LC-48HX is a Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series 48-port UPOE+ line card for wiring closets with 10G multigigabit endpoints and high-power access points. The card has 48 RJ-45 ports running 10GBASE-T, 5G, 2.5G, 1G and 100M, supplies up to 90W per port and carries 480 Gbps of line-card bandwidth. The card requires C9400X-SUP-2 or C9400X-SUP-2XL with Cisco IOS XE 17.8.1 or later, so chassis on C9400-SUP-1 engines cannot host it.

A chassis still on C9400-SUP-1, C9400-SUP-1XL or C9400-SUP-1XL-Y, or one with no 10G endpoints, should take C9400-LC-48HN, which also rates 175 W against 270 W. Where 10G copper is needed without PoE, C9400-LC-48TX has the same speed range and supervisor requirement as data-only ports, but needs Cisco IOS XE 17.13.1 or later against 17.8 for C9400-LC-48HX.

    No. C9400-LC-48HX works only with C9400X-SUP-2 or C9400X-SUP-2XL, and C9400-SUP-1, C9400-SUP-1XL and C9400-SUP-1XL-Y do not support the card. The card installs in any non-supervisor slot of a C9404R, C9407R or C9410R chassis. Supervisor slots do not accept the card.
