C9400-LC-48T Description
The C9400-LC-48T is a Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series data-only line card for adding Gigabit copper access ports to a modular campus switch. The card has 48 nonblocking 10/100/1000M RJ-45 ports, 48 Gbps of full-duplex bandwidth and a 65 W maximum rated power, and it needs Cisco IOS XE 16.6.1 or later. The ports carry no PoE, so connected endpoints must take power from another source.

Application Scenarios
In an access closet serving desktops, printers and patch-panel drops, the line card adds 48 Gigabit copper ports to a Catalyst 9404R, 9407R or 9410R chassis while leaving the chassis PoE budget for other cards.
A campus building that already runs a Catalyst 9400 can fill an open line-card slot with this card to extend 1G copper access, including on chassis that still use a C9400-SUP-1 supervisor.

C9400-LC-48T is the data-only 10/100/1000 card of this group, while C9400-LC-48P adds PoE+ up to 30W and C9400-LC-48U adds Cisco UPOE up to 60W on all 48 ports, each at 48 Gbps and 65 W maximum rated power. Endpoints that draw up to 30W need C9400-LC-48P, and 60W endpoints need C9400-LC-48U. Copper speeds above 1 Gbps call for C9400-LC-48TX, which adds 2.5G, 5G and 10GBASE-T ports and 480 Gbps of bandwidth, but it draws 270 W, needs Cisco IOS XE 17.13.1 or later and works only with C9400X-SUP-2 or C9400X-SUP-2XL. Chassis that keep C9400-SUP-1, C9400-SUP-1XL or C9400-SUP-1XL-Y stay with the 1G cards.
