C9400-LC-24XS Description
The C9400-LC-24XS is a Cisco Catalyst 9400 Series 24-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ line card for 10G fiber aggregation and collapsed access in a modular campus chassis. The card has 24 ports of 10GE SFP+ or 24 ports of 1GE SFP that can run together on one card, 200 W maximum rated power, and bandwidth per slot from 80 to 480 Gbps depending on the supervisor engine. The card runs on all five Catalyst 9400 supervisor engines from Cisco IOS XE 16.6.2.

C9400-LC-24XS is the 24-port 10 GE or 1 GE SFP+/SFP card, while C9400-LC-48XS doubles it to 48 ports and C9400-LC-24S stays at 24 ports of 1 GE only. Reaching 48 ports of 10G on C9400-LC-48XS needs C9400X-SUP-2 or C9400X-SUP-2XL and runs 2:1 oversubscribed on C9400X-SUP-2, so sites near 24 fiber ports can keep C9400-LC-24XS on any of the five supervisor engines. On C9400-SUP-1, C9400-LC-24XS runs 3:1 oversubscribed against 1:1 for C9400-LC-24S, so 1 GE-only links on that engine suit C9400-LC-24S, which also draws 120 W against 200 W. A full C9410R holds 384 ports with C9400-LC-48XS against 192 with C9400-LC-24XS.
Ordering Checklist
- Catalyst 9400 chassis: Install the card in a line-card slot of a C9404R, C9407R or C9410R (2, 5 or 8 line-card slots respectively). Supervisor slots do not accept line cards.
- Supervisor engine: Any of C9400-SUP-1, C9400-SUP-1XL, C9400-SUP-1XL-Y, C9400X-SUP-2 or C9400X-SUP-2XL works with this card, so no engine change is needed.
