CTS-MIC-CLNG-G2 Description
The CTS-MIC-CLNG-G2 is the Cisco Ceiling Microphone, a balanced directional boundary-layer microphone with a 180-degree pickup pattern that hangs from the ceiling to cover medium-to-large meeting spaces while leaving the table clear. Frequency range runs 80 Hz to 20 kHz at plus or minus 6 dB, and the unit is delivered with both 4-pin Euroblock and 4-pin mini jack connectors so it can terminate into either wiring convention without a separate adapter order. It attaches to a wide span of Cisco room systems, including Room Bar and Room Bar Pro, the Room Kit, Room Kit Plus, Room Kit EQ, Room Kit EQX and Room Kit Pro families, Room 55 and Room 70 systems, the SX and MX series, Board Pro 55 and 75 in both generations, and the Room Panorama Series. Mounting is by wire hanging, and Cisco lists CAB-ETHRSHLD-10M as an optional 10 meter shielded cable that is not plenum rated. Clips for grid ceiling mounting are not included with the microphone.

Application Scenarios

1. When Ceiling Pickup Beats A Table Microphone
CTS-MIC-CLNG-G2 suits rooms where the furthest participants sit outside the reach of a room system’s internal array and the table has to stay clear; a small room whose seating already falls inside the host device’s published pickup range gains nothing from the ceiling install and its cable run. Two ordering boundaries decide the rest: the microphone arrives with both 4-pin Euroblock and 4-pin mini jack connectors so the host device wiring convention does not restrict the choice, but clips for grid ceiling mounting are not included and the 10 meter shielded cable CAB-ETHRSHLD-10M is an optional line that is not plenum rated, which rules it out where the ceiling void is a plenum space. Field-replaceable parts are also available as their own PIDs, with CTS-MIC-CLNG-PLT= for plates and CTS-MIC-CLNG-ELM= for the element, so a maintained estate can stock the element rather than whole microphones.
