CS-DESKPRO-K9 Description
The CS-DESKPRO-K9 is the Cisco Desk Pro, an all-in-one video collaboration endpoint built around a 27-inch 4K touch display for personal desks and single-occupant meeting spaces. It pairs a 4K Ultra HD camera carrying a 12 MP sensor and a 71-degree horizontal field of view with an internal 8-element microphone array and left, center and right loudspeakers backed by dual woofers, so a desk position needs no separate camera, headset or speakerphone. One USB-C connection turns the unit into a laptop dock that extends the display at 3840 x 2160 at 60 fps, forwards touch input, passes the camera and audio through to any software client, and charges the notebook at up to 60W. Network attachment runs through an internal 2-port Cisco Ethernet switch on 10/100/1000BASE-T, with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz as the wireless alternative, and the endpoint runs RoomOS 11 or later or Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android while registering natively to Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Expressway or Webex Service. Each unit ships with its desk stand, stylus, network, USB-C and HDMI cables, and the Cisco Desk Pro power supply.

Product Performance
Key Features
One USB-C run carries 4Kp60 display extension, touch forwarding, camera and audio passthrough, and 60W charging at the same time, so the endpoint replaces a separate monitor, dock and headset at each desk position.
The internal 2-port Cisco Ethernet switch lets the Desk Pro and a co-located PC share a single 10/100/1000BASE-T run, which avoids pulling a second structured cable to every desk that gets an endpoint.
The same hardware runs RoomOS 11 or later or Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android, so a mixed estate can standardize on one purchased PID and decide the meeting platform at provisioning time instead of at ordering time.
The endpoint registers natively to Unified CM at Version 10.5 or later with the latest device pack, to Cisco Expressway, or to Webex Service, and interoperates with third-party H.323 gatekeepers and standards-based SIP proxies, which keeps it deployable on premises, in cloud, or in hybrid call control.
A physical camera privacy shutter with LED light works alongside microphone-mute and camera-on indicators, giving open-plan users a hardware-level privacy signal rather than a software toggle they have to trust.
With the MultiSite option the device hosts 5-way SIP/H.323 conferences on its own at 3-way 1080p30 or 5-way 720p30 with content, which removes the need to route small ad-hoc calls through a separate conferencing bridge.
Application Scenarios
Installed at individual desks where one user joins scheduled video meetings from a dedicated endpoint instead of a laptop camera, with the 27-inch panel serving as the primary work display at the same position.
Deployed in single-occupant focus rooms booked for calls, where the integrated camera, microphone array and loudspeakers cover the room without a separate camera, ceiling microphone or speaker install.
Placed at home or remote office positions that need the same registered endpoint behavior as an in-office desk, attaching over the RJ-45 interface or over 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi where a wired drop is unavailable.

- The radio boundary is the only hardware difference between CS-DESKPRO-K9 and CS-DESKPRO-NR-K9: both carry the same 27-inch 4K panel, 12 MP camera and 200W rating, so a site whose security policy bans on-board wireless gives up nothing except the 802.11a/b/g/n/ac radio by taking the no-radio PID.
- CS-DESKPRO-NR-K7 drops embedded encryption on top of the radio, which narrows it to jurisdictions or import cases that specifically require an unencrypted endpoint; Webex end-to-end, H.235 v3 and AES support is absent in hardware and cannot be enabled later in software.
- For deciding which SKU to order, settle wireless policy first and encryption policy second, because display, camera, wired network and power rating are identical across all three PIDs and do not separate this group.
Selection Guide
1. When On-Board Wireless Is Permitted
CS-DESKPRO-K9 carries 802.11a/b/g/n/ac on both bands, which keeps desk placement independent of where structured cabling lands; a site policy that forbids wireless endpoints has to move to CS-DESKPRO-NR-K9 and accept a wired-only position for the same panel and camera.
2. Encryption Scope Decided Before PID Lock
CS-DESKPRO-NR-K7 removes embedded encryption together with the radio, so it belongs only where regulation requires an unencrypted endpoint; ordering it for an ordinary deployment permanently gives up Webex end-to-end, H.235 v3 and AES on that unit.
3. Government Orders Take The TAA PID
CS-DESKPRO-K9++ is the TAA line for U.S. Government purchases of the same endpoint, and it is a separate product ID rather than a flag on CS-DESKPRO-K9, so a contract with TAA obligations cannot be satisfied by the standard PID.
4. Spare PID Scope For Replacements
CS-DESKPRO-K9= is the service spare of the same endpoint and Cisco ships it with the main unit and desk stand only; a replacement that also has to restore cables, stylus or power supply needs those as their own lines, which makes the spare cheaper than a new unit but not a like-for-like swap.
Ordering Checklist
|
Check Item |
What to Confirm |
Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
|
Compliance model number |
Confirm the delivered unit reports TTC7-27. |
Separates genuine Desk Pro hardware from other Cisco desk endpoints that carry different compliance models. |
|
Unified CM baseline |
Confirm Unified CM runs Version 10.5 or later with the latest device pack before turn-up. |
An older cluster cannot register the endpoint natively, which strands delivered hardware at commissioning. |
|
Registration entitlement |
Confirm A-FLEX-C-DEVICE, A-FLEX-P-DEVICE or A-FLEX-P-DEV-11X is allocated for the target platform. |
Without a device registration license the endpoint cannot join the call-control service it was bought for. |
|
Wall mount requirement |
Confirm CS-DESKPRO-VESA= is on the order for any unit that will not sit on the included desk stand. |
The VESA adapter and wall mount kit is outside the default shipped set, so a wall rollout halts at installation. |
|
Separately ordered software |
Confirm LIC-DESKPRO-MS is added when MultiSite is required and L-DESK-SERIES-RM when remote monitoring is required. |
Both are ordered apart from the hardware PID and cannot be assumed present on the delivered device. |
|
Speaker grille finish |
Confirm whether CS-DESKPRO-FG= fabric or CS-DESKPRO-MG= metal grille is specified. |
The grille is a replaceable optional component, so a required finish has to be carried as its own order line. |
