C1200-24FP-4G Description
The C1200-24FP-4G is a Cisco Catalyst 1200 Series fixed managed PoE+ access switch for branch and small-office closets that power phones, cameras and access points. The switch has 24 Gigabit PoE+ ports sharing a 375W budget, four Gigabit SFP uplinks, 56 Gbps of switching capacity and one fan. Each port can deliver up to 30.0W, but the budget covers only 12 ports at that level, and Layer 3 is limited to static routing.

Key Features
Every port can supply up to 30.0W, but 375W covers only 12 ports at that level. Lower-draw devices let the budget stretch across all 24 ports, so the combined draw of the endpoints sets the limit.
The 24 RJ-45 ports support 802.3at PoE+, 802.3af and Cisco prestandard PoE, which covers current endpoints and older Cisco phones on the same switch.
The uplinks run at 1G and accept modules such as GLC-SX-MMD for multimode fiber, GLC-LH-SMD for single-mode fiber and GLC-TE for copper.
One fan cools the chassis, which produces 34.8 dBA at 25°C and dissipates 1512.3 BTU/hr at full PoE load, so rack airflow and nearby workspace both matter.
System draw with PoE reaches 443.5W at 110V and 429.9W at 220V, which is the figure to use when sizing the circuit and UPS.
The switch holds up to 32 static routes and 16 IP interfaces, enough to route between VLANs locally but not to run dynamic routing protocols.
Application Scenarios
In a branch office, the switch powers IP phones and wireless access points from its PoE+ ports and carries their traffic upstream over Gigabit SFP links.
A retail back room or school wiring rack can run PoE+ cameras, badge readers and classroom access points from one 24-port switch, with VLANs separating each device group.
At a surveillance aggregation point, the switch supplies PoE+ to IP cameras and forwards their streams to a recorder over a fiber or copper SFP uplink.
