The C1200-24FP-4X is a Cisco Catalyst 1200 Series fixed managed PoE+ access switch for branch and campus closets that power endpoints and uplink to an aggregation layer over 10G fiber. The switch has 24 Gigabit PoE+ ports sharing a 375W budget, four 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplinks, 128 Gbps of switching capacity and one fan. Each port can deliver up to 30.0W, but the budget covers only 12 ports at that level, and Layer 3 is limited to static routing.

Key Features
Every port can supply up to 30.0W, but 375W covers only 12 ports at that level. Lower-draw devices let the budget stretch across all 24 ports, so the combined draw of the endpoints sets the limit.
The 24 RJ-45 ports support 802.3at PoE+, 802.3af and Cisco prestandard PoE, so current endpoints and older Cisco phones can share the switch.
The uplink ports run at 10G or 1G. Supported modules include SFP-10G-SR for multimode fiber, SFP-10G-LR for 10 km single-mode and SFP-H10GB-CU direct-attach cables up to 5 m.
The switch forwards 95.23 Mpps and 128 Gbps, which equals full-duplex line rate on all 24 Gigabit ports and the four 10G ports at once.
One fan cools the chassis, which produces 34.8 dBA at 25°C and dissipates 1544.4 BTU/hr at full PoE load, so rack airflow and nearby workspace both matter.
System draw with PoE reaches 452.9W at 110V and 450.4W at 220V, which is the figure to use when sizing the circuit and UPS.
Application Scenarios
In a campus building, the switch powers phones and wireless access points from its PoE+ ports and sends their traffic to the distribution layer over 10G SFP+ links.
A security room can connect PoE+ cameras and badge readers to the switch and move the combined video traffic to a recorder or core over a 10G uplink.
At a large branch, one 24-port switch gives phones, access points and printers Gigabit access, while the SFP+ ports connect to a server room or aggregation switch.
