C1200-48P-4G Description
The C1200-48P-4G is a Cisco Catalyst 1200 Series managed PoE+ switch for large wiring closets that power phones, cameras and access points over 48 copper ports. The switch has 48 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports sharing a 375W PoE budget, four Gigabit SFP uplinks, 104.0 Gbps of switching capacity and a 3 MB packet buffer, cooled by one fan. Each port supplies up to 30.0W, but 375W covers only 12 devices at that level, and the uplinks stay at 1G.

The uplinks run at 1G over fiber or copper SFP modules, which matches aggregation layers that have not moved to 10G.

The 3 MB buffer is twice the 1.5 MB found on the 24-port models, which gives bursty traffic from 48 ports more room before packets drop.
