DS-SFP-FC32G-LW Description
DS-SFP-FC32G-LW is a 32-Gbps Fibre Channel longwave (LW) SFP+ transceiver for Cisco MDS 9000 Series SAN switches. The module runs at 1310 nm over OS2 single-mode fiber and uses a dual-LC interface, delivering up to 10 km interconnect distance for data-center-to-campus or metro dark-fiber links. It supports autosensing 8/16/32-Gbps FC line rates (backward compatible to 16G and 8G on the same link), making it a flexible choice for core–edge ISLs, storage replication, backup/DR, and high-throughput host or director-class switch uplinks.Designed for stable operation in production SANs, the transceiver specifies average transmit/receive optical power of +2.0 to −5.0 dBm / +2.0 to −11.4 dBm and a minimum fiber length of 2 m, helping ensure predictable budgets across patch-panel runs. It is DOM/DDM capable so you can monitor real-time diagnostics such as temperature, voltage, and Tx/Rx power from the switch OS for easier turn-up and troubleshooting.
