N9K-C92348GC-X Description
The N9K-C92348GC-X is a Cisco Nexus 9200 Series 1RU fixed data center switch for gigabit copper server access and management networks. The switch has 48 100M/1G Base-T downlink ports, four 1/10/25G SFP28 ports and two 40/100G QSFP28 ports, with 0.696 Tbps of bandwidth and a 40 MB shared buffer. Native line-rate VXLAN routing is not supported on this model, and Layer 3 IP unicast and multicast need the separate Enhanced L3 license.

Product Performance
Key Features
The downlink side is all copper and runs at 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps. Links at 10 Mbps are not listed for this model.
Four SFP28 ports run at 1G, 10G or 25G, and two QSFP28 ports run at 40G or 100G. The QSFP ports can also split into 4x10G, 4x25G or 2x50G.
The switch carries 0.696 Tbps with a 40 MB shared buffer. The data sheet gives forwarding as over 517 Mpps.
Two supplies run in a 1+1 layout, as 400W AC, 350W or 400W DC, or 500W HVAC/HVDC. Typical consumption is 150W and the maximum is 245W, cooled by three fan modules.
Fans and supplies come in port-side intake and exhaust versions, and every module in one chassis must face the same direction. Intake builds put the ports in the cold aisle.
Layer 3 IP unicast and multicast need the separate Enhanced L3 license. Native line-rate VXLAN routing is not supported on this model.
Application Scenarios
In a data center row with 100M and 1G server NICs, controller ports and appliance interfaces, the switch terminates the copper links on its 48 Base-T ports at the top of the rack.
Management traffic from servers and infrastructure gear can be collected on this switch, which then joins the production network over its SFP28 or QSFP28 ports.
A site replacing older copper access switches keeps its 100M and 1G endpoints on the Base-T ports, while the SFP28 and QSFP28 ports carry 25G or 100G links toward aggregation.

N9K-C92348GC-X and N9K-C92348GC-FX3 share 48 Base-T ports, four SFP28 ports, two QSFP28 ports and 0.696 Tbps, but N9K-C92348GC-X runs copper at 100M and 1G with 8 GB memory and a 16 GB SSD, while N9K-C92348GC-FX3 adds 10M support, 32 GB memory and a 128 GB SSD. Sites with legacy 10M copper devices, or that need the larger memory and storage, should order N9K-C92348GC-FX3. Cisco excludes both models from native line-rate VXLAN routing, so a design that relies on it needs another platform. Racks that need 48 fiber SFP+ downlinks at 1G, 10G or 25G instead of copper move to N9K-C92160YC-X, which also raises bandwidth to 3.2 Tbps.
Ordering Checklist
- Fan airflow: Order three fans, all NXA-FAN-30CFM-F (port-side exhaust) or all NXA-FAN-30CFM-B (port-side intake). Every fan and power supply must face the same direction or the switch can overheat.
- Power supply PID: Select N2200-PAC-400W (exhaust), N2200-PAC-400W-B (intake), N2200-PDC-400W, N2200-PDC-350W-B or NXA-PHV-500W/-B. Each PID fixes the input type and airflow direction, so it must match the fans.
- DC supply software: Plan NX-OS 9.3.4 or later when ordering N2200-PDC-400W or N2200-PDC-350W-B, because these DC supplies are compatible only with NX-OS 9.3.4 and later.
- Layer 3 licence: Add N93-LAN1K9 (Enhanced L3) when OSPF, EIGRP, BGP or IP multicast is needed. The default software has no Layer 3 IP unicast or multicast.
- Power cord: Add a country-specific cord PID, or select NO-POWER-CORD where no cord is wanted. The cord is a separate order line, and NO-POWER-CORD ships the switch without one.
