The N9K-C92348GC-FX3 is a Cisco N9200 platform 1RU data center switch for top-of-rack copper access in gigabit server and management racks. The switch has 48 Base-T ports at 10M, 100M or 1G, four 1/10/25G SFP28 ports and two 40/100G QSFP28 ports, with 0.696 Tbps of bandwidth, a 40 MB shared buffer and room for 1,792,000 LPM routes. The default NX-OS software covers Layer 2 features only, so OSPF, EIGRP or BGP routing needs an added license, and the switch has no native line-rate VXLAN routing.

Product Performance
Key Features
All 48 Base-T ports negotiate 10M, 100M or 1G. Older management interfaces, PDUs and building controllers that still link at 10M can share the rack switch with gigabit server NICs.
Four SFP28 ports run at 1G, 10G or 25G, and two QSFP28 ports run at 40G or 100G. The uplinks are fixed on the chassis and need no module slot.
The forwarding tables hold 1,792,000 LPM routes, 1,792,000 host entries and 512,000 MAC addresses. Up to 16,000 VRFs and 128-way ECMP give a routed leaf room for many tenants and parallel paths to the spine.
The control plane runs on a four-core CPU with 32 GB of system memory and a 128 GB solid-state disk. Telemetry on this model is collected in software rather than exported from the ASIC.
Each of the two hot-swappable supplies comes in a port-side intake or port-side exhaust version, as 350W AC, 440W DC or 350W HVAC/HVDC. Typical draw is 226W and the maximum is 242W, below the rating of any one supply.
Out of the box the switch runs Layer 2 security and management features. OSPF, EIGRP, BGP and IP multicast arrive with an added NX-OS license, and native line-rate VXLAN routing is not available on this model.
Application Scenarios
In a data center management network, the switch collects console servers, server BMC ports and PDU interfaces at 10M, 100M or 1G and carries that traffic upstream over its SFP28 ports.
A row of servers with 1G copper NICs connects to the switch at the top of each rack, while the two QSFP28 ports run 100G links to the spine layer.
Hosting providers that route at the rack can keep each customer in its own VRF on this leaf, using the 1,792,000-route table to hold full tenant routing.

N9K-C92348GC-FX3 and N9K-C92348GC-X share the same 48-port copper layout, uplinks and 0.696 Tbps, but N9K-C92348GC-FX3 adds 10M on the Base-T ports and holds 1,792,000 LPM routes against a 16,000 default. A rack that only needs 100M and 1G copper with a small routing table can use N9K-C92348GC-X. Server racks cabled for 10G or 25G fiber move to N9K-C92160YC-X, with 48 SFP+ ports and 3.2 Tbps, though its default LPM table is 6,000 routes. Where the copper runs must carry 10G, N9K-C93108TC-FX3 keeps the 1,792,000-route table and adds 10G BASE-T on all 48 ports with six 100G uplinks at 2.16 Tbps.
Ordering Checklist
- Airflow direction: Order both supplies with the same airflow suffix, port-side intake (NXA-PAC-350W-PI2) or port-side exhaust (NXA-PAC-350W-PE2). The PI and PE suffixes set port-side intake or port-side exhaust airflow for the chassis.
- Power input type: Select AC (NXA-PAC-350W-PI2 or NXA-PAC-350W-PE2), DC (NXA-PDC-440W-PI or NXA-PDC-440W-PE) or HVAC/HVDC (NXA-PHV-350W-PI or NXA-PHV-350W-PE) supplies to match the rack feed. DC supplies accept -40 to -72V.
- Layer 3 license: Add N93-LAN1K9 when OSPF, EIGRP or BGP routing is needed. Without an added license the default NX-OS software runs Layer 2 security and management features only.
- Power cords: Add the destination-country cord, such as CAB-9K10A-EU, CAB-9K10A-UK or CAB-9K12A-NA, for AC supplies. HVAC supplies take CAB-HVAC-SD-0.6M or CAB-HVAC-RT-0.6M instead.
