The N9K-C9332D-GX2B is a Cisco Nexus 9300-GX2 Series 1RU fixed data center switch for 400G leaf and spine roles in NX-OS and ACI fabrics. The switch has 32 400G QSFP-DD ports and two 1/10G SFP+ ports, with 25.6 Tbps of bandwidth, 4.17 Bpps of forwarding, a 120 MB buffer and 32 GB of memory. Line-rate MACsec is limited to the last eight QSFP-DD ports, and port-side exhaust builds operate at 0 to 28°C against 0 to 40°C for intake builds.

Product Performance
Key Features
Thirty-two fixed QSFP-DD ports deliver 25.6 Tbps in one rack unit. The ports also run natively at 200G, 100G and 40G.
Each port splits into 4x10G, 4x25G, 4x50G, 4x100G or 2x200G, so one 400G port can feed several lower-speed links.
Line-rate MACsec runs on the last eight QSFP-DD ports, which are marked green on the faceplate. Encrypted links belong on those ports.
Two slice-pairs support 2 million IPv4 LPM and host entries, 1 million MAC addresses and 256,000 multicast routes. The buffer is 120 MB.
Six fans run in a 5+1 layout and two supplies run 1+1, as 1500W AC or 1100W DC. Port-side exhaust builds need an ambient of 28°C or lower, against 40°C for intake builds.
The same hardware runs as an ACI spine, an ACI leaf or an NX-OS switch. Software licensing uses Essentials, Advantage or Premier subscription tiers for 3, 5 or 7 years.
Application Scenarios
Where servers and storage connect at 100G or 200G, the switch acts as a leaf and splits its 400G ports into 4x100G or 2x200G breakouts.
A small ACI or NX-OS fabric can use the switch as a spine, with each of its 32 ports facing a leaf at 400G.
Switch-to-switch links that need link-layer encryption use the last eight QSFP-DD ports, which run MACsec at line rate.

N9K-C9332D-GX2B and N9K-C9332D-GX2B-M share 32 400G QSFP-DD ports, 25.6 Tbps and 4.17 bpps, and the difference Cisco lists is memory: 32 GB on N9K-C9332D-GX2B and 64 GB on N9K-C9332D-GX2B-M. Designs that need 48 400G ports at 38.4 Tbps, with line-rate MACsec on all 48, move to N9K-C9348D-GX2A, and 64 ports at 51.2 Tbps with MACsec on the first 16 move to N9K-C9364D-GX2A. Both GX2A models are 2RU and run on 3200W AC, while N9K-C9332D-GX2B stays 1RU on 1500W AC with MACsec on its last 8 ports.
Ordering Checklist
- Fan airflow: Order six fans, all NXA-SFAN-35CFM-PI (intake) or all NXA-SFAN-35CFM-PE (exhaust). Fans and power supplies must share one airflow direction.
- Power supply PID: Select NXA-PAC-1500W-PI, NXA-PAC-1500W-PE or NXA-PDC-1100W-PI, matching the fan direction. The PI or PE suffix sets the airflow, and exhaust builds need ambient at 28C or lower.
- Add-on licence: Order an Essentials, Advantage or Premier term subscription (3, 5 or 7 years) together with the switch, tied to a Smart Account. An add-on licence must be ordered with the switch.
- Optics: Order supported QSFP-DD optics per the Optics-to-Device Compatibility Matrix. Optics are not included, and each GX2 switch needs supported ones ordered separately.
- Power cord: Add a cord PID for the destination, such as CAB-9K10A-EU, CAB-9K12A-NA or CAB-C15-CBN. The cord is a separate order line for the NXA-PAC-1500W supply.
- Rack hardware: Add NXK-ACC-KIT-1RU or N3K-C3064-ACC-KIT, and N9K-AIRFLOW-SLV for rack depth of 824.00 to 915.80 mm. The rack mounting parts and airflow sleeve are orderable accessories for this chassis.
